Ryu Ga Gotoku , also known as Yakuza and Like a Dragon in the west, is currently one of SEGA ’s main franchises. Created by Toshihiro Nagoshi in 2005, the series had tons of hardships establishing itself in the west: for 10 long years there were desperate attempts by SEGA to make it appealing to an audience that was either unaware of its existence, or completely uninterested because they saw it as just another Grand Theft Auto clone.
